Karimganj Crackdown: Assam Police Unveils Northeast’s Largest Drug Seizure

Assam Police has created history with the largest-ever narcotics seizure in the Northeast Indian region.

Karimganj witnessed a massive crackdown on illegal activities as 5.10 kg of heroin and 64 thousand Yaba tablets were seized in South Assam’s Karimganj District today.

The operation took place in Superkandi village, located 10 km away from Karimganj town, and was led by DIG Partha Parim Mahanta.

In the operation, heroin with a market value exceeding 100 crore rupees was confiscated. Four individuals, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the campaign.

A vehicle with the registration number MZ 06 A 1422 was intercepted, containing a substantial quantity of drugs.

The narcotics is believed to have originated from Mizoram through illegal channels. The four apprehended suspects are Nur Ahmed, Jaocham Liana, Lal Cham Liana, and Ramhaka.
