“Hailakandi Transport Department Shines: Advocating Road Safety on Republic Day, Wins Countless Appreciation.”

On Republic Day, one of the main attractions at the Hailakandi district’s celebration was the display of various government department tableau.

After the participation of 20 teams in the march-past, different projects were presented, and the government departments selected well-prepared tableau.

According to the District Magistrate N.S. Gautam, the topics presented in these tableau were both attractive and informative.

In this year’s Republic Day event, a total of 9 government departments set up tableau.

Among them, the Transport Department emphasized the necessity of wearing helmets while riding bikes on the road through a skit presented at one tableau.

A dramatization depicted a person losing their life due to not wearing a helmet, which was showcased to the audience.

Interestingly, during the performance, personnel from the State Disaster Response Force(SDRF) rushed to the parade ground fearing a real accident had occurred.

The police clarified to them that it was just a skit presented at the Transport Department’s tableau. The Transport Department received praise from the audience for addressing the issue.

Flyers and leaflets were also distributed from the parade ground by the Transport Department, highlighting road safety.

The Transport Department received a third-place award from the district administration for their tableau presentation.

Among the participating government departments, the Department of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) received the first prize for presenting how the Jal Jeevan Mission is delivering water to every household through pipelines.

The Department of Animal Husbandry received the second prize for their presentation.

On the other hand, the Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya also  praised the efforts of Hailakandi Transport department about the subject of the Republic day Tableau  but also advised the department to tour the entire district with this tableau in the next two to three days to increase road safety awareness.
