In response to the severe heatwave, the District Magistrate of Hailakandi has revised the school timings to protect students’ health.
According to the new order issued on Saturday, LP (Lower Primary) schools will now operate from 7:30 AM to 12:15 PM.
Similarly, UP (Upper Primary) schools will run from 7:30 AM to 12:45 PM. High schools, higher secondary, and senior secondary schools will have classes from 7:30 AM to 1:15 PM.
This revised schedule will be effective from Monday, May 27, and will remain in place for all government and private schools in the district until further notice.
The decision aims to minimize students’ exposure to the intense afternoon heat, ensuring their safety and well-being.
By adjusting the school hours, the authorities hope to provide a more comfortable and conducive learning environment amid the challenging weather conditions.
The District Magistrate emphasized that the new timings are a temporary measure and will be reviewed based on future weather conditions.
