Hailakandi district’s central event for Republic Day will once again take place at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium.
The district magistrate, NH Gautam, will hoist the flag.
A contingent of students from various schools and colleges, Assam Police, CRPF, Assam Battalion combining a total of 20 groups, will participate in the Republic Day march-past this time.
In addition, various government departments will have their tables in the march-past.
The 6 Assam Police Battalion from the Kathal Bagan will also take part in the march-past. There will be a team from the women’s police as well.
Today, District Magistrate Gautam inspected the preparations for Republic Day.
He was present at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium, discussing arrangements with parade commandants and additional superintendent of police Jyotirmoy Daimari.
Meanwhile, with Republic Day as the focal point, stringent security measures have been taken in Hailakandi district.
To ensure no untoward incidents occur in the town, police patrolling has already started throughout the city.
It has been reported that comprehensive security arrangements are in place, with nearly a hundred police personnel expected to be on the streets on Republic Day.
