In the history of India, during the Congress rule, the sacrifices of the freedom fighters were often downplayed, and leaders like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who played a significant role in the struggle for independence, were marginalized.
This claim is made by Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah at the celebration event of Parakram Diwas organized by the Assam Linguistic Minority Development Board, Hailakandi.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, PHE, Skill Development and Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah expressed that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose made unparalleled contributions to the struggle for independence.
However, during the Congress government’s tenure, the heroic story of Subhas Bose was portrayed in a very limited manner, even excluding him from the published books. Thus, during that time, Netaji faced neglect even in terms of due recognition.
Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah mentioned that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, the entire country observes Netaji’s birth anniversary as Parakram Diwas in defiance of the British. He also noted that the BJP government has taken initiatives to unravel the mystery surrounding Netaji’s death.
Highlighting The new educational policy, Minister Joyanta Mall Baruah mentioned that it will present true information about the valor of Indian soldiers and freedom fighters in front of students, without distorting the history like the biased narratives of the Mughal emperors’ bravery.
At the Parakram Diwas event organized at Saraswati Vidyaniketan, homage was paid to Netaji, and various awards of competitions held earlier in the day were presented to the winners.
The event was attended by district BJP president Swapan Bhattacharya, District Magistrate NH Gautam, Prominent BJP Leader Kanad Purkayastha, and BJYM District President Dr. Milon Das.
