Hailakandi Dec 13: The last National Lok Adalat of the year 2023 was held on the premises of the Hailakandi District Court last Saturday.
Through the initiative of the District Legal Services Authority, a total of 551 cases were disposed of in this Lok Adalat. Settlements totalling 1 crore 87 lakh 85 thousand 307 rupees were reached in this Lok Adalat.
The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bidyabrata Acharya, informed that awareness about this Lok Adalat was spread among the residents of Hailakandi through media, postering, and mic announcements.
A special effort was made in this camp to provide relief to customers who had not paid their electricity bills and bank loans. Additionally, cases related to motor accidents were settled through the Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (MACT), criminal compound cases, and other cases in the Criminal Compound.
A total of 12 benches were operational in the Lok Adalat, and the District & Session’s Judge and the other Judges of the Hailakandi Judicial Department participated in the Lok Adalat.
In the Lok Adalat held on this day, 244 pre-litigation cases and 307 cases under trial were disposed of. Settlements amounting to 3,88,2707 rupees were reached from pre-litigation cases, and settlements of 1,49,02,600 rupees were reached in cases under trial.
