The havoc of hailstorms and heavy rain continues unabated in Hailakandi.
Tuesday afternoon, under the revenue circle of Algapur and Lala in Hailakandi district, various areas have been severely affected by dangerous storms and hailstorms.
Suddenly, as a result of these storms and hailstorms, 16 villages have been devastated under the revenue circle.
Electrical poles and trees have fallen everywhere, disrupting traffic. Landslides have occurred due to the storm, affecting various houses and schools.
Many crops have been destroyed as well. Although the weather seemed fine in the morning, it suddenly changed in the afternoon.
First, there were gusty winds, followed by heavy rain and hail. Areas like Kapnarpar, Kalinagar, Padmarpar, Algapur Bazar, Uttar Narayanpur, and Mohanpur have suffered the most damage due to the storm.
Many people have suddenly become homeless due to the tin roofs of their houses being blown away by the storm.
The authorities have assigned the task of assessing the amount of damage caused by the storm to the patwaris.
The district magistrate of Hailakandi, N. H. Gautam, stated that the Hilakandi district administration is prepared to deal with storms or other natural disasters.
The list of those affected by the storm will be compiled promptly. On the other hand, former chairman of Uttar Narayan GP, M. Hifzur Rahman, stated that there has been extensive damage,
especially in Algapur Part II, Kalinagar VII, Narayanpur Part II, and surrounding areas, due to the severe storm and rain on Tuesday afternoon. He said that almost sixty percent of the people in Uttar Narayanpur GP have been affected.
