A proud moment for Hailakandi district, as A. Priya Singh and Puspa Shahu are set to represent the Indian national team at the Asian Women’s Futsal Championship in Pokhara, Nepal from 28th to 30th July. This news has spread joy throughout the district sports arena.
Priya Singh, a girl from Rajeshwaripur Part II village under Lala Police Station, and Puspa Shahu, a resident of Badarpur, both achieved this success through their hard work and talent. Priya, from a very poor family background, with her father Mohan Singh being a carpenter and her mother Poinu Tambi Singh a homemaker, did not give up on her dreams despite financial constraints. Upon receiving news of their success, Hailakandi District Sports Association awarded Priya a cash prize of five thousand rupees yesterday.
Present at the felicitation ceremony organized at the District Sports Association office were its Vice-President Anisur Rahman Bordskwar, Stadium Committee Chairman Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Football Secretary Mofazzal Hossen, Volleyball Secretary Ekramul Islam, Karnadhar of Star Football Academy Anich Ahmed, and others. They celebrated the achievements of Priya and Puspa, wishing them a bright future ahead.
Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Chairman of the Stadium Committee, expressed that through this success, Priya and Puspa have set an example for the youth of Hailakandi district. They have shown that with hard work, dedication, and unwavering determination, financial difficulties cannot be a barrier. Their success is not just Hailakandi’s pride but the pride of the entire state.
