In a major success by the Assam Rifles Field Intelligence Unit (3FID DGA RFIR, Silchar) and Karimganj police, 77.13 grams of heroin were seized last night from RK Nagar in the Karimganj district.
The operation was led by Additional Superintendent of Police, Karimganj, APS Pratab Das. Two drug sellers, namely Yearun Nessa(36) and Abdul Hannan(45), were also arrested in this operation.
The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around 50 lakh, according to police information.
The police also informed that the suspected drugs were kept inside a bedsheet belonging to Maklis Ali of Khalagram under RK Nagar. But , Maklis Ali manage to fled away and an FIR has been logged against him.
Cash amounting to Rs. 6500 and two Android mobile sets were also seized from the arrested persons.
