On the last day of his tour, State Congress President Bhupen Bara found himself amidst intense turmoil at the Hailakandi Congress Bhavan.

Bhupen Bora arrived at the Hilakandi Congress Bhavan around two in the afternoon, with the proposed agenda being briefly summarized.

As he was present, Congress workers warmly welcomed the party president. However, within a few minutes, the situation suddenly escalated.

Tensions rose abruptly, with one faction of Congress pitted against another.

At the district Congress Bhavan, President Bora attempted to engage in discussions with representatives from various wings of the Congress party.

He started by conversing with members of the Women’s Congress at the office chamber of District President Sam Uddin Barlaskar.

However, outside the room, a sudden exchange of words escalated into a physical altercation between two factions of Congress.

As the situation heated up, security personnel stationed outside the Congress Bhavan were deployed.

Bhupen Bora also appealed for calm among party workers.

However, the district party president found himself in severe distress due to the sudden altercation among Congress members.

Later, facing journalists, Bhupen Bara tried to clarify that the intense enthusiasm among Congress workers after Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Assam has increased.

This, he claimed, has intensified competition among supporters of potential candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Consequently, unexpected clashes erupted between supporters of two aspiring candidates, leaving them embroiled in a dispute within the Hailakandi Congress Bhavan.

Furthermore, President Bora opened up about launching Muslim candidates for the Karimganj and Dhubri Lok Sabha constituencies.

He stated that although Muslim candidates would contest in both centers, the Congress would also nominate Hindu candidates in the remaining 12 centers.

President Bara made it clear that Congress was not abandoning its ally parties or a single seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam and its potential impact on the Lok Sabha elections, Bhupen Bara insisted that it would not influence the outcome.
