The people of Hailakandi town witnessed another theft last night.
Taking advantage of the absence of the homeowners, a gang of thieves has stolen cash amounting to Rs. 60 thousand and several lakh worth of gold ornaments from a house located in Ward No. 07 of Hailakandi Town.
This burglary incident took place at the residence of Dipali Deb in Nutunpara of Hailakandi town.
Although the police have initiated an investigation, they have not been able to find any clues to the burglary.
Dipali Deb informed that she had gone to see Rabindra Mela with her daughter. Upon returning home, they found everything turned upside down.
The gang of thieves had broken three doors and entered the house. Starting from the golden ornaments prepared for the daughter’s wedding to all the money, they took everything.
Meanwhile, one after another burglary incidents in Hailakandi town are raising questions about police security arrangements and city patrolling.
